Professor Squid had fled into the storm drains and this should have been a tip off to a hero with Apex's experience. But the green hair beauty was always like a hound after a fox with her blood up when she was fighting evil, this day was no different. She ripped open the trap door he used to escape, diving in. She hovered just above the level of the water and then started after the fleeing madman.

"Give it up Squid." She shouted. "You cannot escape me."

"Is that so? Suzy show our friend some love."

As soon as the words were spoke huge tentacles burst from the water and wrapped the rocketing heroine in crushing coils.

"What?" Apex said in surprise before she was pulled under.

The Professor laughed.

"Feed well my pet and leave no scraps or bones."

The water bubbled and boiled then was still. The madman giggled and fled the scene. Long minutes went by and the waters were calm, it looked the end for the Mighty Apex. But without warning she burst to the surface gasping a breath as she struggled with the grip of the slimy tentacles.

"You stupid beast. My new uniform is ruined!" She shouted with growing anger.

One of the joys of being a heroine, constantly having to fix your wardrobe. Always good to have a few extra costumes stashed away for this reason, hehe.
